  • Consignee

    A person, company, or government agency, usually the buyer, to whom goods are to be delivered by the consignor.
  • Consignment

    The goods or property shipped via a common carrier from one location to another.
  • Consignment Buying

    An arrangement in which a supplier maintains an inventory of goods on an entity's site. The entity then draws from the supplier's stock as needed and only pays for the goods at that time.
  • Consignor

    A person or company that ships goods to another (the shipper).
  • Consolidated Purchasing

  • Consolidator

    A carrier that collects small shipments from several shippers and then consolidates them into larger shipments (truckloads, carloads, or containers) for delivery to the consignee.
  • Consortium

    A partnership, association, or society of suppliers. See also: Cooperative Procurement (Purchasing).
  • Construction

    The process of using labor to build, alter, repair, improve, or demolish any structure, building, or public improvement; generally does not apply to routine maintenance, repair, or operation (MRO) of existing real property.
  • Construction Management

    A service that provides an entity with effective management services for all phases of a project (e.g., cost, scope, schedule) by contracting with a thirdparty that acts as its agent.
  • Construction Manager at Risk (CMR)

    A project delivery system in which a Construction Manager, acting as an entity's general contractor, is contracted to advise the designer and builder and deliver a project within a guaranteed maximum price (GMP).
