This document is the Vendor Code of Ethics for the City of Port St. Lucie, FL. The Office of Management and Procurement (OMB) of the City is committed to a procurement process that promotes fair and open competition and is conducted with the highest ethical standards. To ensure this, all vendors who wish to do business with the City must adhere to this Vendor Code of Ethics. The key points outlined in the code include: 1. Vendors must submit competitive bids or proposals that are consistent and appropriate to the bid documents. 2. Vendors are prohibited from discussing or consulting with other vendors who are bidding on the same contract or similar City contract with the intention of limiting competition. They are also not allowed to influence or induce any individual or entity to submit or not submit a bid or proposal. 3. Vendors are not allowed to disclose the terms of their bids or proposals to any other competing vendor before the bid or proposal closing date. 4. Vendors must fully perform any contract awarded to them at the contracted price and in accordance with the terms specified in the contract. 5. Vendors must submit accurate and timely invoices for goods and/or services provided under the contract. 6. Vendors are prohibited from offering or giving any gift, item, or service of value to a City employee, employee family member, or any other vendor contracted by the City. 7. Vendors must not attempt to cause or influence any City employee or City Official in a way that may compromise their objectivity or independence of judgment. They are also not allowed to use their official position to secure unwarranted privileges or advantages for themselves or others. Overall, the Vendor Code of Ethics aims to ensure a fair and transparent procurement process and prevent any unethical practices or conflicts of interest.
