This document provides information about the requirements for the position of Contracts Analyst I in a formal competitive bid environment. The first option requires the candidate to have experience in developing and renewing routine agreements and contracts for the purchase of specified equipment, supplies, or services. The second option requires five years of purchasing and/or contracting experience, with two years of specialized experience in handling complex acquisitions or functioning as a working supervisor/lead. A bachelor's degree can be substituted for three years of general purchasing and contracts experience. In addition to the experience requirements, the candidate must be certified as one of the following: Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified Professional Public Buyer (C.P.P.B.), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (C.P.P.O.), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (C.P.C.M.), or Certified Associate Contracts Manager (C.A.C.M.). The candidate must also possess a valid California Class C Driver License or have an alternative method of transportation when needed for job-related essential functions. The physical class for this position is classified as 2 - Light.
