They also perform contract administration functions such as negotiation of change orders and resolution of contract performance issues. The Purchasing Agent provides support to departments with quarterly visits. The minimum qualifications for the position include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, and three years of experience in public/government purchasing, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. Preferences for the position include governmental purchasing experience and certification as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Certified Professional Purchasing Officer (CPPO), or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
