This document discusses the improvements made in the procurement process for architectural and engineering (A/E) services in King County. These improvements were made based on feedback from customers and have resulted in better value and customer service. The complaints were addressed by shortening the process, providing tools and templates to simplify it, and creating a collaborative workspace for transparency. These improvements have not only benefited A/E procurements for the Water and Land Resources Division (WTD) but have also been extended to all A/E procurements across the County. The project has improved the image of the Procurement and Payables (P&P) department. The document also highlights the transferability of these improvements to other agencies. The tools and templates can be easily modified for any size or type of procurement and can be shared with other public agencies. The document mentions a process improvement project for Goods and Services Request for Proposals (RFP) that is also benefiting from the tools and resources created through the A/E work.
