The project will replace the outdated Fairfax County Identification Number (FCIN) stock numbering scheme with a universally recognized commodity/service code. This will allow vendors to self-register and maintain their vendor records, as well as receive bid opportunities directly and submit electronic bids. The project will improve communication with registered vendors and increase competition for County/FCPS requirements. The project has already conducted an analysis of FCINs in CASPS files and purged unused FCINs. Overall, both projects aim to enhance the efficiency and user-friendliness of the County's information systems and procurement processes.
