The document is a set of specifications for the printing and binding of two volumes of a manual titled "Basic Mathematics for Maintenance Training." The manuals are to be printed on good quality paper, with the bidder submitting the proposed brand name of paper. The front covers of both volumes should be printed in black and PMS-151 (orange) ink on medium weight Charmony paper. The completed manuals should have a trim size of 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches, including covers, and there should be no half tones in either volume. Volume I is to consist of 200 pages, all of which will have printing on one side only. Volume II is to consist of 390 pages, all of which will also have printing on one side only. The Department of Transportation and Development will provide camera-ready layouts for the entire job. The manuals are to be gathered, punched, and bound on the 8 1/2 inch edge with white plastic binders, G.B.C. or approved equal, to allow for flat opening. The completed manuals should be packaged in suitable corrugated boxes, with each box containing no more than 50 pounds. The successful bidder will be required to submit press proofs for approval before printing the volumes. The proofs should be forwarded to the Louisiana Training and Research Center at the Department of Transportation and Development. All plates used in the printing process will become the property of the Department upon completion of the contract. The original layouts of the manuals can be seen at the Department of Transportation and Development's Louisiana Training & Research Center in Baton Rouge. The document also includes reference numbers for the volumes: 03-19-0280 for Volume I and 03-19-0285 for Volume II.
