TxDOT will pay a trip charge for multiple tire pick-ups from the same facility within a week and a mobile service fee for each service performed during normal business hours. An emergency mobile service fee will be paid for services performed after normal business hours, on weekends, and on holidays observed by TxDOT. Additionally, the vendor will be reimbursed for mileage in addition to the mobile service fees. The service requirements include performing repairs and related services on tires and/or tubes owned by TxDOT. The prices for tire repairs, removal of tires from wheels, tire mounting, tire rotating, and wheel balancing should include all shop supply costs and environmental charges. The vendor should complete tire service work within one hour after TxDOT personnel deliver a vehicle or tire to their location. Tires and/or tubes should be picked up within four hours of the request and returned within 24 hours. The vendor should provide a service ticket to document the tires and/or tubes removed from the TxDOT facility for repair. An authorized TxDOT employee should sign and date the vendor's itemized receipt when the repaired tires/tubes are returned. The specification also includes provisions for mobile tire repair services. The vendor should perform tire services using a mobile repair truck at remote sites and TxDOT facilities upon request. Routine mobile repair services should be performed during normal business hours, while emergency mobile repair services should be performed before and after normal business hours, on weekends, and on holidays observed by TxDOT. The vendor should invoice the mobile service fee for routine services and an emergency mobile service fee for emergency services.
