Bidders must be EPA and Maryland State certified hazardous waste haulers. The hazardous waste must be transported in suitable containers that comply with DOT regulations. The contractor must have the necessary licenses and permits and prepare all required manifests. The disposal facility must be EPA approved, and the contractor must provide a certificate of disposal and destruction and a completed manifest for each shipment of hazardous waste. All waste collected on the event day must be removed from the facility. Certified vehicles must display a Hazardous Waste Transporter Vehicle Certification Sticker, and the contents and quantities listed on the manifest must match those on the containers. In the event of a spill, the incident must be reported immediately, and the person and vehicle involved must remain at the scene until clearance is given.
