This document is a purchasing specification for the City of Austin, Texas, for the delivery of liquid Sodium Hypochlorite to the South Austin Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The plant is undergoing renovation of the chlorine facility and will need to use Sodium Hypochlorite during the renovation. The specification includes information on the scope and classification of the Sodium Hypochlorite, as well as the applicable requirements, material requirements, and delivery/invoice requirements. The contractor is required to supply periodic bulk deliveries of Sodium Hypochlorite with a solution strength of no less than 12% and no more than 12.5%. The plant will have two storage tanks for the Sodium Hypochlorite, and orders will be for full truckloads. The required amount of Sodium Hypochlorite is estimated at 600 gallons per day, but is subject to change. The Sodium Hypochlorite must meet certain physical and chemical requirements, and bidders must submit a certified analysis of their product with their bid. Deliveries will be made to the wastewater treatment plant within three working days, and the contractor must provide a certified analysis of the Sodium Hypochlorite with each delivery. Invoices must be submitted within ten calendar days of the order.
