This document is a specification for a fiber optic cable, specifically an ADSS (all dielectric self supporting) cable. The cable is required to have a double polyethylene jacket construction with a UV rated outer jacket. It should have a maximum span length of 600 feet and a nominal installation sag of 1.0%. The cable diameter should be 0.690 inches (17.52 mm). The cable should be designed to withstand a sustained maximum wind load of 100mph without degrading the fibers. The manufacturer of the cable should have at least 10 continuous years of experience in manufacturing and engineering ADSS cable systems and be ISO 9001 registered. Bidders should provide a detailed description of the proposed cable, including information on the glass manufacturer, cable configuration, fiber grade, optical characteristics, mechanical specifications, sag and tension information, electrical immunity characteristics, and any other pertinent information. Bidders should also provide documentation showing compliance to the specifications. The cable should be delivered in 10,000 feet reels with a tolerance of +/- 5%. Each reel should include a cable make-up and test data sheet. The cable reels should be non-returnable wood reels with a 1 ¼ inch drive hole and a minimum 3 inch metal hub. The cable should be shipped via flat bed trailer to the Central Stores Warehouse. The quote should include lead times for initial and subsequent cable deliveries, and Lakeland Electric prefers to take delivery in scheduled releases.
