  • YEAR CREATED: 2009
  • ENTITY TYPE: County
  • TYPE OF DOCUMENT: BID - ITB, IFB, ITT, RFB
This document outlines the responsibilities and requirements for the installation of carpet in a specific project. The contractor is responsible for checking the physical dimensions and conditions in the field and ensuring proper fitting of the carpet. They are also required to remove any foreign matter such as grease, cement, or plaster before installation. The area of application should be cleaned with a commercial vacuum and damp mop. If the area is excessively dusty or powdery, it should be treated with a sealer as per the manufacturer's recommendations. The installation of carpet in a room indicates acceptance of the substrate, and any faulty work should be repaired at no cost to the County. In cases where there is heavy furniture or equipment, the contractor should notify the County for adjustments. The contractor may accompany the County representative to identify items to be moved, inspect them for damage, and replace them after carpet installation. The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary equipment, materials, and manpower for the moves. Adequate care should be taken to protect adjacent work from damage, and the carpet should be cleaned and vacuumed to the County's satisfaction. The contractor is also required to submit a manual of the manufacturer's maintenance recommendations for the carpet.
