This document is a set of specifications for a crossing guard vest. The vest is required to have a front panel and a rear panel, both of which should be made of high-visibility fluorescent yellow fabric. The front panel should have a vertical stripe on the left side, with a pencil pocket sewn onto the adjacent inner side. The top opening of the pocket should be approximately 1.25" wide. The rear panel should also have a vertical stripe on each side of the shoulder area, with each stripe being approximately 4.5" wide. The stripes should have outside borders edged in black and a center area in Hi-Vis fluorescent yellow. The bottom edge of the vertical stripes should end at the top edge of the topmost horizontal stripe. The rear panel should also have a minimum of one horizontal stripe at the bottom portion, with the top edge of the upper horizontal stripe being approximately 6" - 11" from the bottom edge of the panel. The words "CROSSING GUARD" should be applied in silver reflective material in the center of the horizontal stripe. The front and rear panels should attach to each other with hook and loop closures, allowing for adjustment to accommodate different sizes of clothing. The vest should also have a microphone tab attached at the top of the shoulder area, and labels indicating compliance with safety standards and laundering instructions. The vest is available in various stock sizes ranging from small to 4XL.
