Description

Understanding the range of competencies covered in the NIGP-CPP Module C exam is an important step toward preparing for the NIGP-CPP. NIGP’s Module C Question Analysis Course is a comprehensive, activity-based learning experience designed to help you evaluate your current knowledge, identify areas of strength and weakness, and develop a focused study plan moving forward. Through practice questions, real-world scenarios, and guided discussions, you will enhance your ability to apply procurement best practices while gaining clarity on where to concentrate your preparation efforts. 

Objectives 

The NIGP-CPP Module C Question Analysis Course reviews the following competency statements: 

  • Create and maintain a continuous improvement plan. 
  • Develop and manage a resilient and agile workforce. 
  • Organize procurement staff to optimize the procurement service delivery model. 
  • Implement and manage technology and automation to enhance procurement performance. 
  • Obtain and manage budgetary resources to achieve procurement goals . 
  • Develop data-based decision making protocols. 
  • Develop and implement continuity of operations plan. 
  • Analyze information from multiple sources to create an entity wide procurement plan to meet the overall entity’s goals 
  • Analyze current market trends and their impact on entity wide procurement planning 
  • Identify opportunities for strategic procurement contracting initiatives 
  • Incorporate procurement priorities and best value factors, along with cost and price considerations, to guide decision-making 
  • Assess risk and incorporate appropriate risk response strategies 
  • Analyze information from multiple sources to create individual procurement project plans to meet stakeholder objectives 
  • Determine the most appropriate sourcing, solicitation, and award structure  
  • Determine the most favorable contract content and structure  
  • Manage the solicitation development and pre-release process 
  • Manage all stages of the selection process (from release to award) 
  • Develop and manage an appropriate negotiation strategy 
  • Develop and implement dispute mitigation and resolution strategies   
  • Manage impacts related to international business matters 
  • Create and implement a contract administration plan 
  • Establish contract performance monitoring process 
  • Facilitate resolution of contract performance issues

Designed for public procurement professionals who have at least five years’ experience.

Intended Audience

The NIGP-CPP prep course is targeted to individuals who are preparing to sit for the NIGP-CPP Certification Exam and meet or exceed the following professional demographics: 

  • Mid-level public procurement and central warehouse professionals who serve as senior buyers, managers, directors, or equivalent functions within their respective entities.

  • Non-procurement managers and supervisors who either provide procurement functions that support entity programs under delegated authority, or who already have a good understanding of basic procurement principles but wish to get more in-depth, hands-on training.

  • Professionals who are employed by local governing entities and special authorities (such as K-12 and higher education, publicly owned utilities, transportation providers, and other publicly funded or created entities) who either serve within or manage the procurement function.

  •  Supplier managers and supervisors seeking to understand the public procurement function from a more in-depth holistic level, including the policies, standards, and procedures by which public entities must function.

Competency Alignments

This course is designed as an exercise-based learning experience and is tied to NIGP’s Public Procurement Competency Framework.

For those that want an experience similar to the in-person classroom, but without the travel. Similar to NIGP’s In-Person courses, a set learning schedule is provided - anywhere from a ½ day to 3-days. Participants engage in a live class with the instructor and peers using Zoom and cameras to provide a very personal and interactive learning environment.

These courses cannot overcome lack of experience and will not guarantee a pass rate on the final exam. These courses will help you understand your areas of content strengths and weaknesses, assist in guiding study activity, and provide self-directed study questions and information.
