This position offers a meaningful opportunity to serve the community through impactful public procurement work. The Procurement Specialist will use strong writing and research skills to develop and manage solicitations for both Construction and Professional Services projects. This includes crafting detailed procurement documents and ensuring the successful execution of the solicitation process from initiation to contract award. The role requires critical thinking, the ability to work independently, and strong time management and organizational skills to balance multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Responsibilities span the full procurement lifecycle, including conducting market research to determine the best procurement method, drafting solicitation documents such as IFBs, RFPs, and RFQs, leading stakeholder meetings, coordinating evaluations, facilitating negotiations, maintaining documentation, and issuing final contracts. Exceptional customer service is a key part of this position, requiring regular communication with internal departments and external vendors to provide support and maintain transparency throughout the process. The Procurement Specialist is also expected to stay current with changes in procurement policy, best practices, and emerging technologies, ensuring the City’s procurement operations remain compliant and efficient. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptability and responsiveness to shifting goals, priorities, and timelines. The role may also include additional duties as assigned to support departmental or organizational needs.
