Description

The Office of Procurement Services provides leadership to Colorado State University and Colorado State University – Pueblo in the procurement of goods and services by combining sound business controls with efficient and timely service. Procurement Services assists departments in obtaining the best value for every dollar while complying with applicable University, state and federal purchasing rules and regulations under the delegated authority of the President of Colorado State University. Procurement Services manages general procurement and strategic sourcing, Kuali Shop Catalogs, Procurement Card (PCard), and the University’s Small Business Program.

Requirements

  • Experience with competitive solicitations, such as Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, etc.
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure, to manage multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilities, and to deal with changing priorities, while maintaining personal effectiveness
  • Demonstrated excellent oral communication skills including excellent writing skills, and listening skills to accurately interpret what others are saying
  • Be very detail oriented and have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to meet critical deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and all levels of personnel within the organization, including senior management
  • Experience with the Kuali Financial System and Jaggaer (formerly SciQuest)
  • Experience with strategic sourcing
  • Experience conducting procurements on behalf of a public, non-profit, research-intensive university.
  • Experience with 2 CFR Part 200 Subpart D – Procurement Standards (Federal Uniform Guidance)
  • Nationally recognized procurement certification such as C.P.M., CPPB, CPPO, NIGP-CPP, CPSM or CPCM Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively complex professional experience in public procurement; OR a High School Diploma and a minimum of eight (8) years’ of progressively complex professional experience in public procurement.
  • Substantial experience working with high volume, high dollar transactions
  • Experience with complex and/or technical procurements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the position start date; the department will not sponsor a visa for this position
