Description

Obtain written and/or verbal bids for technology-related purchases. Draft and manage various solicitations, including Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Evaluate submitted bids and provide well-informed recommendations for contract awards. Recommend and help establish ongoing technology contracts based on organizational needs. Lead efforts to assess technology requirements and define specifications for unit or department-wide systems. Collaborate with staff across departments in researching, developing, designing, and analyzing technology software and systems. Conduct feasibility studies and needs assessments to support data-driven technology decision-making. Utilize appropriate procurement processes to acquire hardware, software, and technology services. Conduct market research to identify suitable technology solutions and vendors. Provide expert recommendations for both major and minor software and system purchases. Proven experience in technology procurement, contract negotiation, or related functions. Strong understanding of procurement processes, RFQs, RFPs, and bid evaluation. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to assess needs and develop technology specifications. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on technology projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum of six (6) semester hours in computer science.

Substitution: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and one (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in computer sales, computer consulting or in a position utilizing information technology writing or research skills. OR Successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university including a minimum of six (6) semester hours in computer science and three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in computer sales, computer consulting or in a position utilizing information technology writing or research skills.

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in computer sales, computer consulting or in a position utilizing information technology writing or research skills.
