Overview

The truth? Most procurement processes weren’t built for small businesses, new vendors, or underrepresented suppliers. Between complex requirements, legacy platforms, and limited outreach, too many never make it to the starting line—let alone across it.
It’s time to change that.
Join us for a candid conversation with public procurement professionals who are working to break down barriers and bring more voices into the process. From rethinking how vendors find and access opportunities, to using tech that makes participation possible, you’ll hear what it really takes to open the door to everyone.
This isn’t a presentation. It’s not a product pitch. It’s an honest look at what’s working, what’s failing, and how to build a procurement process that reflects the communities it serves.

What You'll Learn

After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:

  • Surface the real barriers that prevent vendors from bidding—such as pay-to-play portals, lack of opportunity visibility, and overly complex response requirements—and explore their impact on equity and participation.
  • Showcase actionable strategies that procurement leaders can implement to reduce these barriers, including inclusive vendor outreach, simplified solicitation design, and modern tools that lower the threshold for participation.
  • Provide a candid, peer-to-peer forum where public procurement professionals share firsthand insights on what’s working in their communities—and how others can take similar steps toward more accessible, equitable procurement.
