Overview

Public procurement operates at the intersection of consistency and change. While governments must deliver essential services with reliability, they are also expected to respond thoughtfully to new demands, technologies, and policy shifts. Procurement professionals often find themselves managing this tension—supporting immediate operational needs while helping their organizations prepare for what’s ahead.

This session explores procurement’s evolving role in enabling change without sacrificing stability. Participants will consider how procurement processes might support long-term flexibility, how contract structures can either facilitate or inhibit modernization, and how procurement teams may be positioned to observe and respond to change before it reaches other areas of the organization.

What You'll Learn

After completing this online training session, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand how procurement can balance stability and change by fostering reliability and innovation within organizations.
  2. Explore the role of procurement in preparing for emerging trends and risks, such as AI technologies and modern service delivery models.
  3. Learn strategies for modernizing procurement approaches, including demand planning, strategic sourcing, and flexible contracts, to support organizational goals effectively.
