Yolanda Broome

Yolanda Broome, JD, AMInstLM, NIGP-CPP, CPP, CPPM, CGPP, is a procurement professional with over thirty years of experience in contract management, government procurement, process improvement, sales, marketing, legal analysis, and litigation. She is adept at sustaining positive interaction with high-level executives and senior management, major contractors, partners, and government officials to ensure clear understanding of expectations and roles throughout the procurement process. Yolanda leads and trains her staff utilizing team building and positive guidance and she is a firm believer in supporting and advancing the needs of the team. Yolanda has worked every angle of procurement and contracting, including with governmental agencies, colleges and universities, utility companies, and private corporations. She is a graduate of The University of Alabama where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Cumberland School of Law, where she earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence and practiced law with a major Southeastern law firm for six years in the Labor and Employment Section. Yolanda proudly served as a United States Marine for seven years, where her military occupational specialties were administration and supply. She maintains professional affiliations with the Institute of Leadership and Management (United Kingdom), the American Purchasing Society (Certified Purchasing Professional, Certified Professional Purchasing Manager, and Lifetime Certified Green Purchasing Professional Designations); and the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing (National and Georgia Chapters). Yolanda is a Hall of Fame (first 1000) NIGP-CPP certification holder and serves the national NIGP as a member of the Editorial and Publication Committee and she is also a member of the Georgia Chapter of the NIGP, where she served as Vice President. Yolanda retired from procurement with one of the state’s largest counties, and thereafter was the owner and operator of her own consulting firm, Procurement and Contracting Solutions. She also recently served as Director of Contracts and Procurement for a local municipality. Yolanda was honored to recently join the City of Atlanta team and the Department of Watershed Management as the Director of Procurement Planning and Strategic Sourcing. She is an avid reader, artist, crafter, and loves to travel with her husband and three adult children.
