ITB - Moving Services 2005

  • YEAR CREATED: 2005
  • ENTITY TYPE: County
  • TYPE OF DOCUMENT: BID - ITB, IFB, ITT, RFB
The document outlines the requirements and expectations for a contractor providing move coordination and relocation services for a county. The contractor is responsible for performing incidental moves as directed by the county, which involve moving items within or between buildings. They are also responsible for daily paper recycling, picking up and offloading recycle paper from various locations. The contractor's employees must wear a uniform and display photo identification while performing county tasks. The county has the right to request the immediate removal of any contractor employee from a job without justification. The contractor may be required to provide move coordination services, including a detailed move plan and on-site troubleshooting. There is a separate charge for this service. The contractor may also be required to attend occasional move consultation meetings with departments being moved. The contractor must work closely with the county's relocation manager at no cost to the county. Hours on the job are computed from arrival at the "move from" site to departure from the "move to" site, and travel time allowance is provided for employees reporting to the contractor's facility before being dispatched to a job site. The contractor's on-site supervisor must obtain written approval of time worked and the number of workers used from the county's representative. Most moves take place during normal business hours. The contractor must conduct a pre-move walk-through with the county to verify pre-existing conditions and damages of the building, and provide building protection to prevent damage. The contractor must assist in developing packing, tagging, and numbering procedures and coordinate the delivery of boxes. On-site supervision is required for larger, one-time moves, and a supervisor must be available by phone or pager for surplus moves, incidental moves, and recycling collection/transportation. The contractor must perform moves within five days of notification from the county and provide contact information for normal working hours and emergencies. Estimates for each move must be provided within three working days after a site visit and include the department or agency to be moved, estimated labor hours and rates, and estimated material costs.
