SUMMARY This position assists with purchasing activities by sourcing goods and services for the organization.
Is responsible for timely orders and deliveries of materials and services in order to ensure the organizations requirements are met.
Is also responsible for being in compliance with MCHD’s purchasing policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Makes inquiries, obtains quotes and pricing, prepares and edits requisitions to assist customers
• Processes requisitions timely for departments
• Processes and issues purchase orders, follows up and expedites as necessary
• Purchases goods and services following established MCHD purchasing policies and procedures
• Files and maintains all purchasing records
• Researches and corrects purchasing and receiving discrepancies and expedites corrections to ensure timely payment to vendors
• Communicates with vendors in regard to contract compliance and pricing
• Issues and records capital and non-capital asset tags as needed
• Submits and reconciles purchasing credit card reports
• Partners with departments as assigned for completion of RFP process
• Assists customers with support documentation for fiscal year budgets
• Responsible for Non EMS Travel Desk including event registration, travel arrangements (transportation and hotel) and coordination of employee travel forms
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required (degree in related field preferred)
• Purchasing experience preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Proficient word processing, email and internet skills required
• Moderate spreadsheet, database, and presentation skills required
• Ability to focus on strategic forecasting An understanding of governmental purchasing and how governments operate, constantly looking out for risks, key trends, competition, and other factors
• Ability to develop and maintain trusting and positive relationships with internal customers, suppliers and vendors CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Current Texas Driver’s License
