Description
This is professional procurement management work in overseeing the organization's procurement function. This position is responsible to guide, supervise and review the work of the procurement specialists, procurement administrators and contract administrators throughout the process of evaluating suppliers, conducting interviews with vendors, negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier and vendor contracts. Work requires seasoned knowledge of public or governmental procurement principles, practices, procedures, rules and regulations which are gained through a combination of education, training and experience. This position is also responsible to guide, supervise and review the work of the warehouse manager. The work is performed following clearly defined management principles and policies and involves the frequent use of independent judgment in the search for effective solutions to issues as they arise. Interaction with others requires skills in understanding people, sensitivity to diverse points of view, and the persuasiveness and/or assertiveness necessary to influence behavior, change opinions or turn a situation around. The work is performed following diversified procedures and specialized standards that involve a variety of situations requiring the use of judgment in resolving issues as they arise. The work is performed in an office environment where the employee operates a computer along with other standard office equipment. The work is performed under limited supervision where work assignments are subject to established procedures, practices and standards and the employee is given the freedom to determine how and when expected results are achieved.Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics or a related field AND 5 years of experience in public procurement including 3 years of supervisory experience OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Must complete and obtain NIGP Certificates and/or Certifications outlined within first year of employment, Florida Class E driver’s license required and must be maintained.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
