This document provides information about a foam system control display and pump compartment for a fire truck. The control display shows the mode of operation, foam supply selected, water and foam totals, foam percentage, remaining gallons, and time remaining. A microprocessor is used to monitor the water flow and foam pump position to ensure accurate proportioning. A check valve is installed to prevent foam contamination of the water pump. The foam concentrate pump is self-priming and made of brass and stainless steel for longevity. A relief system is included to protect the pump from over pressuring. The pump has a minimum capacity of 10 gpm and can draw foam concentrate from external supplies. An external foam pick-up is provided for use with foam agents not stored on the vehicle. The system also includes a flush mode to flush all foam concentrate with clear water. The pump compartment is separate from the hose body and mounted on rubber biscuits to allow for chassis frame twist. Pump controls and gauges are located on the driver's side and are removable for maintenance. The pump and gauge panels are constructed of black vinyl covered aluminum to eliminate glare. Additionally, the fire truck's control display also includes an engine oil pressure indicator with visual and audible warnings to ensure the engine's health and safety.
