The County of Loudoun has a requirement that materials, products, or chemicals that may be hazardous to an employee's health must be accompanied by a Material Safety Data Sheet when received. All firms doing business in Loudoun County are required to be licensed according to the County's "Business, Professional, and Occupational Licensing (BPOL) Tax" Ordinance. Wholesale and retail merchants without a business location in Loudoun County are exempt from this requirement. Contractors located or owning property in Loudoun County must ensure that all real and personal property taxes are paid. The County will verify the payment of taxes by the successful bidder before awarding any contract renewal. The successful bidder is required to procure and maintain insurance coverages for injuries to persons and/or property damage that may arise from the work performed on behalf of the County. The bidder must provide proof of insurance coverage before the commencement of work and maintain such coverage for the duration of the contract period. The insurance coverages required include General Liability, Automobile Liability, and Workers' Compensation. The minimum limits for each coverage are specified in the document. The contractor is required to hold harmless the County, its officials, employees, agents, and representatives from any suits, actions, or claims of any kind arising from the contract work. The contractor is also responsible for indemnifying the County for any personal injuries, damages, or violations of rights sustained by any person or property due to neglect in safeguarding the contract work or any act or omission by the contractor or their employees. The hold harmless clause also includes claims involving infringement of patent or copyright. Overall, the document outlines the terms and conditions that the firm must adhere to while providing services to the County of Loudoun.
