CPPB Prep

In an effort to prepare candidates for the computer based written CPPB examination containing 175 questions, this course provides a review that addresses key information on topics identified in the 2021 UPPCC Body of Knowledge and Competency. Considered as a tool to help the student in assessing their own strengths and weaknesses’ as they relate to the subject matter, this course is only a part of the candidates overall study plan for preparation. Candidates authorized to test should enroll in the course well in advance of the selected test date. Participation in this class does not guarantee success on the examination.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the content of the six domains in the Body of Knowledge and Competency as it relates to the CPPB Examination.
  • Describe the testing environment for the certification exams.
  • Explain various methods of study that will help prepare for the examination.

Intended Audience

This course is targeted to individuals who meet or exceed the following professional demographics:  

  • Entry-level  public  procurement  and  central  warehouse  professionals  who  serve  as  assistants, coordinators, buyers, or equivalent functions within their respective entities.

  • Non-procurement  managers  and  supervisors  who  are  responsible  for  either  the procurement function or staff who provide procurement functions under delegated authority.

  • Professionals who are employed by governing entities and special authorities (such as K-12 and higher  education, publicly-owned utilities, transportation  providers,  and  other publicly-funded  or created organizations) that either serve within or manage the procurement 
    function.

  • Suppliers or representatives of suppliers seeking to understand the public procurement function from a holistic level, including the policies, standards, and procedures by which public entities must function.

Instructor led discussion style classroom setting for those who prefer focused learning with maximum in-person interactions with instructors and peers.

This format offers flexibility for those with busy work schedules, but still want access to instructors and peer interaction. These courses follow a set learning schedule (usually 2-4 weeks) where content is primarily taken On Demand. To provide for live instructor and peer interactions, participants are required to attend several short Online Live Learning Events (OLLE). The course may also make use of online discussion forums and assignments to further the learning experience.

Completion Requirements:

  • Attend and participate in the entirety of the Online Live Learning Events (OLLE). Participation is one, two-hour OLLE per week of course instructional time (four OLLLEs total).
  • Review all on-demand content.
