Description
The Senior Procurement Auditor is responsible for conducting audits of state agencies and institutions of higher learning (collectively State Agencies) procurement systems for the Division of Procurement Services (Division) to assure compliance with the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code and Regulations (Procurement Code}.
This person will work with the Division's Director of Audit and Certification (A&C) and A&C's team of auditors in conducting audits of State Agencies.
This person will assess State Agencies' compliance with the Procurement Code by:
• serving as Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) for assigned audits of simple to moderately complex procurement systems.
• assisting Audit Managers as a member of a team to conduct audits of large, complex procurement systems.
Requirements
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and professional experience in accounting, auditing, or finance. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and techniques of accounting.
• Experience with federal or state procurement laws and regulations.
• Ability to plan, organize, analyze, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills in the analysis of meaning and sufficiency of audit Evidence.
• Proficient skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel software and familiarity with information system practices.
• CPA or CIA
