Overview

For many, sustainable purchasing requirements are the new norm. You may be receiving top-down instructions on sustainability goals, realizing the importance to your stakeholders, or trying to do what is right for your agency. This presentation will introduce attendees to the key steps in implementing a sustainable purchasing plan, including an introduction to sustainable procurement benefits, guidelines, and the “triple bottom line.” A tool to help procurement professionals achieve environmental goals, sustainability can ensure that purchasers make the best economic decisions while supporting the community they serve. Using specific examples within public procurement, attendees will receive an introduction to sustainable purchasing, learn how to identify sustainable products, and be prepared to utilize sustainable purchasing as an opportunity, rather than an obligation. Go from 101 to pro with this crash course in sustainable purchasing!
