DescriptionUnder the direction of the Deputy Chief Procurement Officer, coordinates procurement staff, manages data and secures the goods and services for Cook County departments and agencies. Allocates personnel resource to achieve departmental performance goals/targets and resolves issues which may occur during the procurement process. Coordinates procurement training of internal and external staff. Conducts market analysis/research to ensure cost effective and competitive pricing regarding supply purchases. Prepares evaluation guidelines, status reports and presentations while assisting with the management of internal office operations and budget preparations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Public Administration is required. (Must provide original college/university transcript at time of interview)* Five (5) years of progressive full-time work experience developing Request for Proposals (RFPs), Invitation for Bids and drafting and/or negotiating procurement contracts is required. Supervisory or managerial work experience is required. Two (2) years of full-time work experience budgeting and reviewing encumbrances of payment processes is required.
