Buyer staff at UMD assist campus customers to procure goods and services by managing all aspects of the procurement process from gathering requirements to monitoring post-award compliance. We seek multiple qualified candidates for Buyer positions in the following areas: - Commodities & Services (General Goods & Services, Research, Contract Services) - Information Technology - Construction & Facilities Buyers are responsible for providing specialized and professional procurement services involving solicitation preparation, management, award, and administration of purchase orders and contracts for designated categories. Using judgment and initiative, and working collaboratively with customers and procurement colleagues, buyers work under general supervision to perform routine and moderately complex procurement transactions within designated level-of-signature authority. You will review incoming requisitions for completeness; prepare, review and/or approve purchase orders, contracts, bid packages, correspondence and reports; review supplier proposals, make recommendations, issue award letters and draft supplier contracts.


Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university One (1) year experience in procurement or allied, technical field, administrative functions, or the legal profession
