The Purchasing Agent assists the Purchasing & Contracts Director with a variety of professional duties involved in the ethical procurement and contracting of materials, supplies, services and equipment for college departments and operations. Develops bid specifications, opens and awards bids, and drafts contracts. Performs a wide variety of responsible and complex administrative duties for the department. Provides information and assistance to all college departments regarding fiscal rules and procedures. Provides informal and formal solicitation and contract administration services in conformance with established College, State and Federal policies and procedures. The Purchasing Agent assists in the management of travel functions, maintains stock levels and Central Stores inventory and serves as backup related to materials handling duties including assists shipping and receiving functions.
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of two years' experience in purchasing function OR the equivalent combination of higher education and experience Specialized knowledge: purchasing experience Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills Proficiency in business software is required.
