Under limited supervision, performs specialized work in the procurement of commodities and services in connection with the operation of a municipal government entity. Essential functions include but are not limited to bid/contract/RFP coordination functions - creation and review of specifications, bid documents and openings, contract preparation and signing; purchasing processing and coordination functions - purchase order processing, purchase requisition review, preparation/issue and posting of requisitions and purchase orders, assisting in administration of Purchasing Card program, participating in Pinellas County Co-Operative bidding process, training of new employees as necessary, interviewing salespersons/vendors, collecting, tabulating and analyzing bids, conducting studies and collecting data on current market conditions; inventory functions-ordering of all stock inventory-plumbing, vehicle maintenance and central stores, maintenance of fixed assets, records, tags, performance of annual fixed asset inventory.
Associate degree in business management, accounting, economics or related field. CPPB certification required within one year, plus 3-5 years' experience in procurement for a government agency. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for required education and/or experience, at the City's discretion. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
