Supervise daily activities of purchasing clerks related tasks. Procure materials and services over $25,000 using co-ops, sole source, OEMs, purchase orders and inter-local agreements. Coordinating all activities during the purchasing process, such as creating purchase orders, monitoring transportation and invoice creation and follow-through.

*Authorize payments, returns of merchandise and pricing

*Supervise daily activities of administrative staff

*Perform preliminary review of vendor issued Terms & Conditions and propose recommended changes

*Perform personnel evaluations

*Assist in the formulation of Department Budget as required

*Identify training budget needs

*Performance review alignment

*Job description review

*Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service

*Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts

*Perform other duties as required


Required Experience:

*Four (4) years of experience in a purchasing environment

*Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

*Exhibit excellent communication skills with internal staff and the public

Desired Experience:

*High School Diploma or GED

*Valid Texas driver’s license

Desired Education/Certification/License:

*Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
