DescriptionThis is advanced professional procurement work within the Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department, Strategic Procurement Division. Employees in this class are responsible for working with a variety of County staff including high level management to develop and evaluate solicitations, negotiate contracts for a wide range of products and services and supervise staff. Incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment and technical expertise in developing contract requirements, contract specific language, and detailed evaluation criteria for highly complex acquisitions as determined by management. This position handles all types of solicitations, including: Invitations to Bid (ITB); Requests for Proposals (RFP); Requests for Information (RFI), and Requests for Qualifications (RFQ). In addition, incumbent ensures that all purchases are made in accordance with County Ordinances and Administrative Orders, and interprets procurement policy, procedures and contractual standards.
Bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of 3-5 years of procurement or contract related experience is required. Professional purchasing certification must be attained within a three-year period.
