Description
This is an advanced level and is characterized by expert competence in procurement which includes responsibility for using independent judgement in interpreting and applying local, state, and federal statutes. This position works independently to ensure compliance with and interpretation of purchasing guidelines, policies, procedures, and best practices with specialty projects, including grant, state, and federal funding and to coordinate and lead the City’s supplier diversity efforts. This position will perform outreach to all businesses with an emphasis on small, minority, women owned businesses regarding City business opportunities.Requirements
Five (5) years in of related experience performing various high value procurement activities, specifically with federally funded projects, including but not limited to utilizing various procurement methods, reviewing, and analyzing offers prior to awarding of contract, and developing and negotiating contracts. Equivalent to a Associate's Degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Certified Public Procurement Buyer (CPPB), NIGP-CPP, CPM or Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (desired).Application Process
