DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Director of Purchasing, the Associate Director of Purchasing provides general supervision over professional, technical, and clerical staff engaged in procurement and purchasing activities, including planning, directing, and coordinating the procurement and purchasing activities for the College. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of contracts, strategic procurement planning, procurement policies and procedures, delegated procurements, quality control, procurement training, electronic procurement systems, and purchasing card administration. Maintain the integrity of the public procurement process.
This position requires: (1) A Bachelors degree; and (2) At least seven (7) years of related experience; and (3) At least one (1) one of the following certifications: - Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) (Preferred) - Certified Procurement Public Buyer (CPPB) - Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) - Certified Federal Contract Managers (CFCM) Preferred Qualifications: Public procurement, federal grant procurement, contracting, excellent management and customer service skills, excellent work ethic, exceedingly positive attitude, forward-thinking with the ability to execute on ideas, an appreciation of the department's role as a support function in a large public institution subject to state and federal procurement regulations with hundreds of internal customers in a large variety of roles, ability to understand and apply state and federal procurement regulations.
