CLOSE DATE: 05/09/2022 THIS POSITION IS APPOINTIVE SERVICE $2,763.10 to 3,039.41 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled administrative work managing the central procurement staff in the preparation, issuance, and award of quotes, bids, and proposals for the purchase of equipment, materials, supplies, and services for the County contractual obligations. This is specialized work in a central purchasing operation with the responsibility to bind the County for the purchase of commodities and/or services requirements up to an authorized threshold. Supervision is given to procurement staff.


REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Management, or a closely related field PLUS five (5) years of progressively responsible purchasing experience, including two (2) years in a responsible supervisory position. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience in Florida government purchasing and in creating, negotiating, and managing government contracts is preferred. Experience in creating office budgets is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must submit an annual Personal Financial Disclosure to the State of Florida, in accordance with Florida Statute 112.3145. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
