Join the Procurement Leadership Team! Procurement is currently hiring a Supervisor (Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist) on the Solicitations team. Do you have experience in public or private Procurement, along with strong writing and editing skills and the ability to supervise others? As a member of our team, you’ll receive regular training to obtain or maintain your professional certification. The Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist position supervises other Solicitations staff and independently guides and oversees the solicitation process, under the leadership of the Procurement and Contracts Manager. Imagine being a key player on major county projects such as the design and construction of new buildings and the procurement of major new software products! From new road construction to design of new parks and playgrounds and renourishment of world-famous beaches, the Solicitations team works with a variety of departments to keep Sarasota County moving forward. As a Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist (Supervisor) on the Solicitations team, you’ll: Lead and mentor a team of three employees for the procurement and contracting of goods and services. Work with department staff and project managers to draft, review, advertise and award a variety of complex solicitations (Invitations for Bids/Quotes, Request for Proposals, Request for Professional Services, and others) Follow an established and adopted set of standard operating procedures to accomplish assigned work, and ensure processes are transparent, consistent and compliant Facilitate public meetings for County staff, vendors and others, including pre-bid conferences and evaluation meetings Use a variety of adopted templates to prepare and draft contracts for goods, services and projects Lead your team through peer analysis of other cities and counties as you determine the best approach to complex or unusual procurements Participate in periodic Partnership meetings with client departments; provide training and guidance to help customers navigate procurement processes Participate in updates and recommendations to keep processes current and relevant Professional Development: YOUR continuing education and professional development are keenly important to us!
