Requirements

The Director manages and operates the transit agency’s Procurement Department, including the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and quality assurance of all contracting and purchasing activities; staff supervision; and ensuring accountability and compliance with all pertinent laws, regulations, agency policies, and procedures. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, contract management, or a closely related field plus ten years of progressively responsible work experience in contract management and procurement services, including five years of senior-level management experience and supervision, or an equivalent combination of the two. Desirable skills and achievements include: transit and/or public sector procurement experience; the procurement of goods and services utilizing Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) funds; a valid Arizona driver’s license; and a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) / Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) or equivalent professional certification.
