Position: DIVISION DIRECTOR V – DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING ADMINISTRATION
Salary Range: $117,898 Annually, negotiable depending on qualifications
Department: Purchasing/Purchasing Administration
Location: 50 S. Military Trail, WPB
Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday
Other: THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION. The Palm Beach County (PBC), Florida, Board of County Commissioners (BCC), is seeking an experienced professional to perform advanced responsible managerial, technical and administrative work leading the Purchasing Administration Division. The work requires comprehensive knowledge of modern principles and practices of governmental procurement and supply-chain management, as well extensive experience in drafting and management of various procurement methods and post-award procurement activities, such as contract utilization and vendor performance. Work involves assisting the Purchasing Director in directing and coordinating the procurement of goods and services and the operation of the central warehouse; assisting with vendor protests; supervision of professional, technical and clerical personnel; and managing all functions associated with vendor resources, special projects, and information technology.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Purchasing or related field minimum of six (6) years of experience managing purchasing operations or related government procurement activity which includes three (3) years of responsible supervisory experience.
Equivalencies:
1. Related Master’s Degree AND four (4) years of related experience which includes three (3) years of responsible supervisory experience OR
2. Related Associates Degree, equivalent academic training from a technical institute/formal military education program (minimum of 900 classroom hours) AND eight (8) years of related experience which includes three (3) years of responsible supervisory experience OR
3. Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification AND 10 years of related experience which includes three (3) years of responsible supervisory experience.
Necessary Special Requirement: National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) designation/related required within 11 months of appointment.
