The successful candidate is someone who will develop and implement equitable practices in procurement, contracting, contract administration and procurement card functions to further Port goals around regional economic development and shared prosperity. Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in managing a procurement and contracting program with at least five years of related leadership experience
OR;
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties.
• Certified Public Purchasing Officer or NIGP-CPP preferred.
Demonstrated skills & abilities:
• Advanced knowledge of contracting and procurement practices and principles, public contracting and procurement regulations and laws, and grant administration and specifically compliance requirements.
• Advanced ability to interpret contracts, laws, and regulations.
• Communicate complex concepts in understandable terms, influence and persuade others, and lead change and innovation.
• Motivate and manage employees and achieve results through others.
Application Process
SELECTION PROCESS (tentative schedule):
1. A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training, and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of October 14, 2024.
2. A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials.
3. Our goal is to schedule a virtual first round of interviews with candidates who successfully passed the SME evaluation as soon as possible
