Job Description: The Ventura County Community College District is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement and purchasing activities for the District, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities: Manage procurement and purchasing activities for the District, including processing purchase orders, reviewing contracts, and negotiating with vendors. Ensure compliance with established purchasing policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to identify purchasing needs, develop procurement strategies, and implement purchasing plans. Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, as well as negotiate contracts and pricing. Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues or disputes as necessary. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all purchasing activities.

Requirements
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred. At least two years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a public sector or educational setting. Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as to manage multiple projects and priorities.
