DescriptionIn this role you'll oversee the development and administration of County contracts while leading a small and highly skilled team responsible for all aspects of contract administration. The Sarasota County Government Procurement department is looking for an engaging and upbeat leader with strong contract drafting skills to manage our Contracts Administration Team (CAT). In this position you and your team will be working with County departments and the Office of the County Attorney to draft, negotiate, and review documents; ensure compliance with procedures; develop and maintain best practices; facilitate conflict resolution/vendor disputes; maintain a contract database, and, provide training to internal stakeholders. Essential skills and capabilities include: Ability to read, understand, and apply policies, procedures, and laws. A bias toward action that does not compromise stewardship obligations. Robust contract drafting skills to support the development and negotiation of contracts and amendments on standard and non-standard forms. Ability to serve as an effective, positive, and engaging mentor, manager, and leader to your team. Modeling public sector ethics and values to lead others to appropriate outcomes. Promoting and providing excellent, attentive, and comprehensive service to other County departments as well as contractors and vendors. Minimum Qualifications: Familiarity with commonly-used contract terms and concepts. Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Finance or related field AND four (4) years of experience in procurement or contracts. - OR - Associate’s Degree AND six (6) years of job-related experience. Two or more years of supervisory experience required. Related professional experience in public procurement or contract administration may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of contract law CPPB or CPPO or ability to obtain certification(s) within 12 months from date of hire

Starting Pay Range: $74,484.00 - $100,547.20/year, based on your experience
Full Position Pay Range (future earning potential): $74,484.00 - $126,630.40/year
