DescriptionThis position will be part of the Purchasing Division at the Austin Convention Center Department (ACCD) and will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services used in the daily operations at ACCD. About 80-90% of the time, this position will be responsible for performing Departmental day-to-day purchases (spot buying, issuing purchase orders and using a procurement card) of goods and services. This includes getting quotes from vendors, verifying quotes against the terms of the contract, and following up on back/open orders. The remaining 10-20% of the time, the position will conduct contract development activities for RFQs and other informal purchases. Contract development includes gathering contract requirements from internal stakeholders, drafting/writing scopes of work, and working with Central Purchasing to solicit, award and execute for a contract.
Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration or other relevant field, plus two (2) years of related experience. Experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.
