DescriptionThis position will be part of the Purchasing Division at the Austin Convention Center Department (ACCD) and will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services used in the daily operations at ACCD. About 80-90% of the time, the position will conduct the contract development process for a variety of formal and informal purchases for contracts that range in complexity from low to high risk and complexity. Contract development activities includes gathering contract requirements from internal stakeholders, drafting/writing/revising scopes of work, and working with Central Purchasing to solicit, award and execute a contract. The remaining 10-20% of the time, this position will be responsible for performing departmental day-to-day purchases (spot buying, issuing purchase orders and procurement card) of goods and services. Day-to-day purchase activities include getting quotes from vendors, verifying quotes against the terms of the contract, and following up on back/open orders.
Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to Business Administration, Public Administration, plus four years of experience in a related field. Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years. A Master's Degree may substitute for required experience up to two (2) years.
