American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)
American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) is a membership association of almost 10,000 professionals in the United States. ASPA’s mission is ‘advancing excellence in public service’. Their services and programs are geared toward advancing the art, science, teaching and practice of public and nonprofit administration. Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) is a professional association of approximately 20,000 state, provincial, and local government finance officers in the United States and Canada. National Cooperative Procurement Partners (NCPP)
The professional association for cooperative procurement. The mission of the NCPP is to elevate the advocacy, collaboration and education for Cooperative Procurement so its strategic value is widely recognized and promoted by government and educational leaders. Their purpose is to work collaboratively and inclusively to promote the highest level of business ethics, best practices, and standards in Cooperative Procurement to serve the needs of government, education and non-profit organizations. Part of that goal is to also develop needed training and resources to support public procurement professionals in their important roles.
The Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) is an independent entity established by the National Association of State Procurement Officers (NASPO) and NIGP to govern and administer the Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) and Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification programs.
The CPPO and CPPB programs are highly regarded and respected among procurement professionals and employers in the public sector. To date, the UPPCC has certified over 10,000 professionals within the US and Canada, as well as in nations around the globe.

National Purchasing Institute (NPI)
NIGP joined multiple collegial bodies as an official sponsor of the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) Award founded by the National Purchasing Institute (NPI) in 1995. NPI’s AEP Award is presented to agencies that demonstrate organizational excellence, encourage organizational development, provide benchmarking and increase awareness of public procurement as a profession.
National Council for Public Procurement and Contracting
The NCPPC joins the voices of eight charter associations and the professional groups and individuals whose focus is public procurement and contracting. Collectively, the Council represents more than 37,000 members who are responsible for in excess of 5 trillion dollars of spend annually.

Global Best Practices & Resources
NIGP and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), the world’s largest association of supply chain professionals in private and public sectors collaborated on the development of Global Best Practices in Public Procurement.
NIGP and CIPS also collaborated on the development of two online assessment resources that agencies can use to better understand how their agency practices align with the Public Procurement Maturity Framework. Both resources are available to NIGP members FREE. The Public Procurement Profiler-Essentials and the more detailed Public Procurement Profiler help identify both your agency’s strengths, areas for its further development and the NIGP resources most relevant to those areas of opportunity.
