Overview

The success of capital improvement and capital expense projects lies with choosing the appropriate project delivery method. The design-bid-build method is the most widely used method by procurement. Project delivery methods are usually determined by the stakeholders; however, more input by procurement is needed when determining the best delivery methods. One of the primary reasons for using design build and other methods is that it takes less time and financial resources. When using other delivery methods, teams are key and must commit to frequent communication and follow up. Procurement professionals can learn how to manage the construction procurement process by utilizing available resources that assist with comprehending and mitigating risk. Information on the construction industry, funding mechanisms, and processes available to assist using departments are shared in this online seminar.
