Through a strong network of professional distributors, dealers and retailers in more than 90 countries, we proudly offer a wide range of products across a family of global brands to help golf courses, sports fields, public green spaces, commercial, agricultural fields and residential properties.
Products/solutions unique to the government
Toro manufacturers a wide range of grounds maintenance equipment to meet the broad needs of the government market – in addition to water-saving irrigation solutions, utility vehicles, cultivation equipment, and construction and underground utility equipment. Today, Toro works with several government agencies and grounds professionals to help meet their demands and needs in the field.
An example of a government-related project that was innovative - something that helped solve a problem or contributed a solution
In recent years, Toro collaborated with an aerospace and defense company to develop utility vehicles powered by advanced hydrogen technology. These prototype vehicles were delivered to the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency for operational demonstration. Toro also participated in a three-year project with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to develop similar hydrogen cell powered equipment.
And, originally developed and funded by Western Municipal Water District and Riverside Public Utilities in 2010, the freesprinklernozzles.com program has expanded to include 28 California water agencies serving over 75 different communities. With over 1.2 million Toro® Precision™ Spray Nozzles redeemed so far, water agencies estimate that the potential to save water exceeds 7.8 billion gallons of water over a five-year period.
New technologies being developed or adopted that will have an impact on the way products and/or services are delivered
Focused on advancing the company's innovative leadership, Toro's Center for Advanced Turf Technology (CATT) has responsibility for developing technologies that benefit both customers and the environment. Comprised of a team of leading agronomists and product development professionals, CATT identifies emerging trends in turf care markets and, through the application of appropriate technologies, helps discover new solutions to increase productivity, conserve water, reduce fuel consumption, and improve growing conditions. In working with customers, academic institutions and leading researchers, the group has been influential in the area of robotics, hydrogen fuel cells, advanced battery technologies, precision irrigation and soil moisture sensing.
Toro also has partnerships with NRPA’s Director School and the City Parks Alliance.
