Did you know that “NIGP” stands for the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc.?

In 2011, we adopted “NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement” as the go-to-market identity for the Institute, promoting its leadership role in the support of public procurement and its practitioners.

For ease of communication and immediate recognition, “NIGP” continues to be the familiar name most often used when referencing the Institute.

“National Institute of Governmental Purchasing” remains the legal name of association, though its use is reserved principally for legal documents and formal business communications.
