Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
•Directs the activities of the Warehouse, Graphics, Mailroom and Purchasing functions for the City.
•Supervises and coordinates the activities of staff including training, scheduling, hiring decisions and written performance evaluations.
•Prepares assigned program budget and manages funds received.
•Recommends policies, programs, guidelines and regulations for meeting the procurement needs of the City for adoption by executive team and City Council.
•Coordinates procurement activities with the City Attorney, Risk Management Director, Chief Environmental Officer and other staff to assure all requirements are met.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Materials Management, Procurement from an accredited institution, or equivalent years of education and experience.
A minimum of five years progressively responsible management-level experience in purchasing including experience supervising both professional and clerical staffs is required.
An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
Preferred Certifications: Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)
